Fancy joining us? Just come along to one of our Monday evening practice sessions and have a go.
We will take care of everything else.
Joining Ryebellion
To join Ryebellion you need to be or become a member of the Rye & District Bonfire Society (RDBS) - details here. Any RDBS member may join Ryebellion regardless of musical ability, although it obviously helps if you have prior musical
experience or aptitude, whether or not as a drummer.
There is a minimum age limit of 16, although more junior RDBS members may join Ryebellion if their parents, guardians or other responsible adults are also active members who are prepared to assume responsibility for their behaviour and welfare.
Our primary activity is drumming at bonfire events during the Sussex bonfire season. Outside of bonfire season Ryebellion remains active throughout the year, performing at a variety
of external events - e.g. Hastings Pirate Weekend.
Ryebellion practice every Monday evening throughout the year at Rye Community Centre, Conduit Hill, Rye TN31 7LE between 7:30pm and 9pm. We have a stock of drums that new joiners may use when giving it a try for the first time. We don't practice on bank holidays.
Members pay a weekly subscription fee of £2 to
help meet the cost of hiring the community centre, the first week is on us.
